Linda's Story
Life
I'm single, mother of three grown, college-educated children, all married and proud of them all. Two live out of state and one in Michigan. Four beautiful grandchildren (ages 7,8, 9 and 10 at this time (2016) two are in Silver Spring, Maryland and two here in Utica. They are the joy of my life. Sold my cottage up north, so I could travel a little more, along with my work travel. Life is good! I enjoy golfing, biking, reading, walking and anything new. Still working and enjoy my job and it's challenges.
School
My biggest crush was the boy across the street and I often wonder what became of him. We only went out once, although I often thought of him throughout my life. I wish I had been more involved in high school, but shyness reared its head. I guess we all wish we could re-do something in our lives. My Shorthand teacher, Mr. Lindstrom, ...Expand for more
made an impression on me, telling me I was capable of doing much better, and I did.
College
I didn't attend college; however, I was fortunate to find a career that provided me with opportunities and the ability to live a very comfortable life. I took some college courses, but my job and its travels made it difficult to complete my degree. My education was mostly on-the-job training.
Workplace
My first job was secretarial and I advanced to working for the President of an engineering firm. Married, had children, quit working to be a stay-at-home-mom (no regrets). Entered the real estate world after children were in school full time and progressed to the head of a large department in that industry. A little travel to nice locations, nice resorts - no complaints from me, enhanced my work and provided well for me. Could retire now, but enjoy what I do.
