Lisa's Story
Life
It seems I was to smart for my own good back in the good ole days of graduation --- I didn't go to college right after high school and that led to a few years of hard work at crummy jobs. In 1998 I decided I had enough and went to college! I studied Psychology, Addiction Counseling and Criminal Justice. I graduated in May 2002.
I also married my husband the week after college graduation in Las Vegas Nevada! What a great time! Anyone out there not married yet but making plans...I highly advise leaving the stress at home and have a "getaway wedding". We had friends and family there and once we returned home we had our wedding reception.
I worked for a short time in Mandan at the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch. I worked as a Residential Advisor to adolescents with Behavioral Difficulties. From there I proceeded to work for a Halfway House in Bismarck. This was a place for inmates being released from the Pennitentiary to start over and get help finding proper employment, getting together with family again and learn a better way of life.

marck, however our work schedules were hectic and we didn't get home often enough to see family and our new neices and nephews. In August 2003 we moved back to Carrington and I began work for Social Services in Fort Totten. In March 2005 I wasn't looking for a career change, but came across the opening for a Juvenile Probation Officer in Devils Lake. It sounded interesting, so I applied thinking "if I don't get the position, I wasn't looking for a change anyway". Well I did get the position and have been doing that since! I love it! It is definately an interesting profession - NEVER a dull day!
On a personal note, my husband and I don't have any children. BUT...We love our pets! Having children has been put to the back burner the last couple years...we have often thought of adoption, but nothing in the works yet! We do have 5 neices and 3 nephews (Bob and I each have one sister and each of them has had 4 kids) and they keep us busy!
