Lisa's Story

Life I don't know about anyone else, but after all these years I barely remember High School, not a bad thing in my case. I'm happy to say that those weren't the best years of my life, but these are. I've worked in the same place for 11 years and I still love my job. I own my home thanks to hard work and a little help from my dad's estate. I live in Ventura, which has to be one of the nicest places in So. California, and I'm happily divorced and NOT LOOKING! I'm certainly not the sad sack I was in H.S. And a lot better looking to boot! What more could you ask for? School Good lord, who remembers? Always someone older than me. Can't remember any of my teacher's names, though I liked a few. he male teachers after I graduated, and that was pretty strange. My favorite part of H.S. was protesting during the 60's. Sit down strikes, lunch room boycotts, getting suspended for smoking . . . and Choir, I loved choir. I can't think of anything I learned during that period that I've brought forward to today. Everything I learned about surviving and functioning and thriving in the real world came years after high school. Mostly what I learned there was that I never fit. It took me years to out grow the gawkiness and uncertainty of my teenage years. We used to think that to be old was to practically be dead. Well the joke was certainly on me! How great it is to be the only one running my life these days??!!! Hallelujah!
