Lisa's Story

Life I left Pennsylvania in July, 2000 for a job in Raleigh, North Carolina. Soon my husband (a former Pittsburgher too) followed and we both loved North Carolina so much that we couldn't imagine going north again. Due to a job change in 2003, we moved from Raleigh to the eastern part of the state, but the upside is that we're a lot closer to the beach. I've been married since September 2001 - we don't have any kids, but we do have a dog named Molly who gets lots of our love and attention. ter's degree in Library and Information Science in December 1999. Workplace A 2-year fellowship at NC State University was my first job out of graduate school. When that ended, I took a position at East Carolina University because my husband and I really wanted to remain in North Carolina. I oversee all the book purchasing for the library as well as the preservation & conservation unit. I recently earned tenure, and can now stay at ECU until I retire, if that's what I choose to do with my career. We haven't ruled out returning to Pennsylvania someday in order to be closer to our families, but we're hoping that they will decide they want to move south instead.
