Lisha's Story
Life
I have been living in North Carolina since 1994. I have been married to Dan Bunce during that time and we had one child, Wade, in 1998. I have been teaching at the same elementary school since 1996. I spent 3 years in second grade and the last 9 have been in kindergarten. Very much of a challenge! Dan and I divorced in 2000 and I have remarried. His name is Brian Farr and we have been married for 3 years. Today is our anniversary too! I married him on July 4th so he wouldn't forget the date! (Former marine) I am very happy. The area I live in is about 40 minutes from the Atlantic ocean and within 2 hours of the Outer Banks. Beautiful vacation area if you are ever interested. The only concern about this area would be the hurricanes. My son is now 9 years old and takes after his Uncle Ben in intelligence. We are very proud of him. Brian is more like his father to him. Hope to hear from some of you!
School
My memories at Acorn were wonderful. I enjoyed spending time with my friends and attending basketball games too. I especially enjoyed my Junior prom and my date at that time. Mrs. Pad...Expand for more
illa and Mrs. Whisenhunt were my favorite teachers in the high school and my favorite teacher of all was Miss Hendricks, my kindergarten teacher who inspired me to teach from the beginning. One of my wishes was that I should have kept communication with Laura Wilhite. I will truly miss her.
College
I LOVED my college years!!!!! I enjoyed living on campus and joining organizations such as the Wesley Foundation. I grew up a lot during these years. My friendships I made during this time will always be very precious. My favorite teacher and friend at Arkansas Tech University would be Dr. Gwen Morgan. She was one of my professors in the Education Department and we remain in contact to this day.
Workplace
I currently teach school in North Carolina. I have been at this school for 12 years. I spent 3 years teaching second grade and the last 9 in Kindergarten. I am beginning to really feel old as my first and second classes I taught have now graduated from High School!!! Soon, I will be teaching my students children!!! Believe me...It makes you realize quickly that you aren't in your twenties anymore!
