Liz's Story
Life
President, Northern Ohio Breast Cancer Coalition
Married 26 years; husband Rick, 2 children. Richard is a senior at Mizzou and Mark is a senior in high school.
Graduated from Fox High School in 73 and from SEMO, in 1977. Went to work as a sales rep. with the old Frisco Railroad in St. Louis. Spent 13 yrs. with Frisco/BN, living in Cleveland, OH (where I got married), Denver, Co, Overland Park, KS (where I had my first son), and Ft. Worth, TX (where I had my second son). I left my job as Product Mgr./Petrochemicals to spend time with the kids & move back near my in-laws in the Cleveland area. Got tired of doing the Martha Stewart thing & became active in Democratic politics, worked on many campaigns, including Clinton's in 92 & 96 and Al Gore's in 2000. ment Act in Congress in 2000, got it adopted in Ohio in 2001, provides treatment coverage to uninsured women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer. I travel to Washington DC a couple of times a yr. to lobby, have visited with Dennis Bruns (also class of '73), who lives with his wife and sons in Arlington. Hope to look up other Fox alums on future trips.
Recently co-founded the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio, which provides education and assistance to breast cancer patients with funds from the sale of Ohio's Breast Cancer License Plate.
Anyone coming to Cleveland to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame should look us up. Hope everyone is doing well.
