Lois's Story
Lived on Upper River Road in Washington Crossing until I married. After graduation, I looked for work, and finally found a job working in an insurance company. While at Council Rock, met my true love (George Harle) and eventually married him in 1965. He was in the military at the time, and I moved with him to Albuquerque, NM., where he was stationed. Went to work out there for Base Supply at Kirtland AFB, while he was stationed at Sandia as Military Police. We traveled some, but not enough...would have loved to see Carlsbad, Grand Canyon, etc., but did see Shiprock, Jiminez Springs, as well as Golden, and some of the other towns in NM.
Moved back to NJ in 1966, and took up residency in his family home in mid 1966. Lived in Pennington, NJ until we moved to FL.in 1983 Built our home here, and have lived here ever since.
We have 3 wonderful girls, and 5 grandchildren. All three were born while we still lived in NJ. When we moved to FL, 2 of our girls met and married local boys from here. Brenda, our oldest has 2 sons. Jennifer, our middle child has 3 horses. Jackie, our younge...Expand for more
st has 3 children - 2 boys and a girl. All live close to us, and we see them on a regular basis.
In '03, I was diagnosed w/ breast cancer. Being a survivor, I fought and so far have won. George was diagnosed with stomach cancer in '05. He finished chemo and radiation and then had surgery to remove what was left of his cancer. We, as of this date, are free and clear, although he does have some bad days - not from the cancer, but from the loss of most of his stomach...kind of like having a gastric bypass! He is also diabetic, which really throws a monkey-wrench into the works. After he was diagnosed, I took family leave from work, and went with him to the hospital in Gainsville. He was supposed to be there 8 weeks, but ended up being there for 6 months. I am now his home caregiver.
To relax, I now blog in my spare time. I belong to 2 blog communities as "Georgies-Girl." One is myfoxorlando.com. The other is myblogorlando.com. Look me up if you get the chance or reach me at loharle three two one at gmail dot com or home phone three two one seven two seven three nine eight one.
