Retired from Ma Bell (Ameritech/Michigan Bell(AT&T) bought by SBC, later called at&t) in Nov. 2000 with +33 years service. In 1989 Barb had surgery for Uterine/Cervical Cancer, followed by radiation treat ment. Lost oldest of my two sons to a drug overdose in 1998 (he was 29). Our youngest, Douglas, is still in Mich., divorced in 2005, has shared custody of our two grandkids (Kaitlyn & Daniel). He lives in Oakland villiage (N or Rochester)...Expand for more
, West of I-75. Summer 2005 Barb wanted to to have surgery on her knee (torn cartiledge) but couldn't have it because of severe anemia - caused by colon cancer. Surgery was a success - home in two days! 2006 She had gall bladder removed, and '07 I had mine removed as well. In 2009 I had an incident with dizziness caused by momentary heart rate dropping. In April 09 had a pacemaker installed (that's a good story). Now we're both doing fine, and look forward to shifting between bowling & golf. My Avg for Bowling is over 190 & Sept. 2010 had a 300 (perfect) game; golf handicap is 26. After retirement in Illinois I was active in Groundwater Protection - that's preserving the source of well water - as a resource and from contamination. I work with community, county and regional officials to change how people treat water, to make it a precious resource. In October of 2013 the wife and I moved back to Michigan, 'close' to where we both grew up-Fort Gratiot - just North of Port Huron.
