My brief bio: I spent much of my 20s just having good times with my friends, going out to concerts and clubs, and taking at least one amazing vacation (usually overseas) each year. Things eventually slowed down a bit, but I continued to travel and go to concerts when I could, in between work. I finally decided I wanted to get married so I started dating a little more frequently. After briefly knowing Paul on the Internet, we met in person in Nov. 1996. We got married on June 13, 1999, and we live in North Plainfield, NJ with our cats. We don't have any children. My entire family now lives in NJ - both parents and 3 brothers. My brother Eugene and his wife Rachel have 3 children so I have 2 nieces and nephew in addition to a niece and nephew who are the children of Paul's brother. I am an administrative assistant at Celgene Corporation, a small...Expand for more
pharma co in NJ, and I have worked there since August 2007.
Paul and I have our own business - Organigaya Cafe in North Plainfield, NJ specializing in Organic and Fair Trade food and beverages. Paul lost his job in Feb. 2008 and he decided he wanted to be an entrepreneur. The cafe finally opened in Nov. 2009 in a limited capacity as a coffee/tea bar and grocery to enable us to get an SBA loan so we could put in a kitchen which is necessary to make enough money to sustain the business. The loan was approved in April 2010 and we closed the cafe in early June 2010 when we were ready for the loan closing, only to find out that the senate was holding up a bill that would refund the SBA, unemployment and other things. We finally got our loan in late July and started construction in August. Construction has taken longer than planned, but we should reopen in late Dec. 2010. It has been a financial struggle these past 2 years, getting worse and worse each month. It is worse now than it has ever been and we are on the 'verge' right now but things should start going up from here once the cafe has reopened.
