Lori's Story
Life
Here is our 2006 Christmas letter - enjoy! Dear Family and Friends, Merry Christmas! The Lord is always faithful to those you trust and believe. Last year we would have liked to move to Colorado, but God did not have it in his plans, just yet! Our timing is not GodÂs. We believe one day we will be there! My sister finally made her move to Coeur dÂAlene, Idaho. They have a beautiful home and the kids have acclimated very well.
During Easter break we went to Oahu and Maui for 10 days. We enjoyed the sun, mountains, sights and of course the beaches. We went to Pearl Harbor, Dole Plantation, the Polynesian Cultural Center, kayaking, swimming with turtles, octopusÂ, lots of fishes, went to luaus, ate poi, and lots more. We surprised the kids with swimming with the dolphins. They got to be in the water with the dolphins; touching them, holding on to their dorsal fin, swimming along side of them and being pushed by the dolphinÂs nose while holding onto a bogie board. Hailey thought that was the absolute best thing in the world! She loves dolphins!
We spent 13 days in August visiting the East Coast. We got to go to so many places. Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross house, Washington DC (there saw the White House, Lincoln Memorial, FDR Memorial, Washington Monument, Arlington Cemetery, Jefferson Memorial, and Fords Theater) Mount Vernon (WashingtonÂs house), Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, Monticello (JeffersonÂs house), Shenandoah, Gettysburg, Hershey Park, and New York (there we saw the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, went to a Yankee game, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Madison Square Gardens, and lots more!).
Andy and I have been married for 16 years! Time sure does fly! It seems just like yesterday we were planning our wedding. Can you remember when I put AndyÂs ring on the wrong finger? CanÂt forget the bowling alley reception? We were so young.
Mallorie is 15 and in the 10th grade. She made the...Expand for more
school volleyball team, again. This year she has decided to focus on volleyball. She made a club team and is working very hard. With her height of 5Â8 and her great athletic ability, she will go far, plus she loves it! Of course, boys are still on the forethought, but she is starting to focus on school more now that she realizes she only has 2 more years and then she is off to college.
Hailey is 13 years old and in the 8th grade. She is still doing very well in school. She will always play soccer. She loves it. She finally made All-Stars. I say finally because as everyone knows, all-stars is all political. Well, this year she pressed hard and all the coaches finally saw her talent. She made the team with a 10-0 vote!!!
Heather is 13 years old and in the 8th grade. She, too, has done above and beyond our expectations in school. I am so very proud. She played travel ball this year for the Bomb Squad. We went to Park City for the Triple Crown tournaments. The team won 7th place out of 60+ teams! She loved it (so did we!).
Ok, having three teenagers has its moments, but it is really not that bad. I have great kids with strong opinions, stubborn ways, and loving hearts! What more could I ask for?
Drew is 10 years old and in the 4th grade. He is doing great in school. He decided not to play football this year, but to continue playing baseball. You should see him hit, those balls are out of the park! He is a typical brother, always getting into his sisterÂs business. CanÂt wait for the day he starts liking his sisters friends, heÂll never stop bugging!
Koda is doing just fine. We just canÂt seem to figure out how to stop her from chewing up everything. She chewed all the wiring on our trailer! Anyone want a dog?
Well, that is it for this year. We are Thankful for our friends and family. God bless and keep you safe in the year ahead.
Love the Griffith's
