Lori's Story
Life
We're having a baby girl, due April 7th :)
So what's new with me? After H.S I moved to the bay area, worked my way through college. Earned a BA in English from CSUH. Was in Alpha Phi for approx. 2 years. It was actually a good time. Sororities can be a good thing...contrary to popular belief!
Moved to Carson City Nevada upon being accepted to UNReno for graduate school. Took me 2 years to earn my MA in English. I taught college writing courses while earning my degree. Teaching at UNR was very rewarding. I still hear from students :)
Married June 8, 2002. Coming up on my 4 yr anniversary! Time flies. We sold our 1st home and had a new one built, something much larger so we can start a family. It's fabulous!
I'm a Personnel and Information coordinator for an international company by day..evenings, I'm a personal Fitness trainer at World Gym. I'm in the process of adding prenatal and nutritional certifications to my long list of educational trainings.
As much as I hated Nevada at first, I predict we'll stay out here. Where else can you have a custom home, everything you want, for under $350K and still be close enough to drive back home to CA? Cost of living is appealing!
Jerrod, my husband, and I are currently raising pets..in preparation for the babies, haha. We have a mini wiener dog, a huge black lab, and 2 cats. It's like a zoo...but it's nice to have them around. They are my babies. And for those of you that knew me well in HS. my little Nathan looks just like Lughead--my parent's wiener dog!
Not much else to speak of. Still a Huge Giants fan. Love all sports, weight training, water skiing on lake tahoe, quading around the hills at home, hiking, visiting CA and extended travel. It's important to have a boat, quad and harley up here--lots of outdoor things to do. We utilize all three of our toys as much as possible!
To date we've done as much traveling as possible (it was hard with school). 2 cruises: 1 mexican riviera, 1 carribean. Hawaii, all over CA (top to bottom), Seattle, New Orleans,...Expand for more
Manhattan, Phoenix, lots of little Vegas trips, Florida, Georgia, Italy in March of 06. Sometimes you've got to get a few things accomplished before you rush into parenthood!
I've been lucky to make such great friendships here in Carson City. When I worked at the Carson City Sheriff's office for 3 years, I made friendships that will last my lifetime. I still enjoy good times out on the town, martinis, dancing the night away, etc!
I'm always happy to get emails from former classmates, see how people are doing, etc.

High School--honestly, there is not much I remember. It's all so insignificant compared to what I've done since.

College
BA-CSUH. My first roomate...Leslie Koester--who got me into the whole sorority thing! HA
Had my own condo in San Leandro. Never lived on campus--THANK GOD.
MA--UNR--worst experience ever. Graduate school by itself is HARD..then add in a full time job AND teaching 2-3 courses at the university. MIRACLE I made it through, and with a 3.5 too.
Roughest time...May 2002--signing on my first home purchase, planning my wedding for June 8th, and getting ready for finals. I don't even remember my birthday that May! HA
It's amazing what we can accomplish when we put our minds to something!
Bravo for me I guess!
If I could do things over--I'd get my degrees in Criminal justice..and continue pursuring my open application with the FBI. Law enforcement is what I love best!
Workplace
Work--waitress/cocktail waitress. Tommy T's comedy club in San Ramon. Fun job
Then a marketing job until I moved to Nevada Dec 2000
Carson City Sheriff's office Jan 2001 for 3 years
Gang Intelligence officer...LOVED THE JOB--grant money ran out.
Started where I am now---and recently got certified and started training clients at the gym in Jan 2005.
Do I ever rest? Nope--I guess that hasn't changed since High school!
