Lori's Story
Life
I went to Monrovia my senior year and graduated mid-term. I took two college classes during my last semester of high school thinking I wanted to be an interpreter for the deaf. I was also working part time. After graduation from HS I dropped out of college and decided to attend beauty school. I took two years to complete my schooling and then moved to South Bend, IN for a year and a half. I moved back to Mooresville on New Years Day 1998. I began working at JC PennyÂs Styling Salon in Greenwood. I decided to go to IUPUI part time in the fall of 1998. I wanted to be a naturopathic physician, but changed from pre-med to psychology for a while. I took the spring 2000 semester off to get a second job at FedEx. I went to Jamaica in June of 2000. When I got back I left PennyÂs and began going to college full time. I moved out on my own in the fall of 2001. Mom and I took a vacation to Cancun in Dec. of 2001. I married in May 2005. I finished the requirements for my BA in psychology in Dec. 2005. My mother passed away in April of 2006. I plan to finish my pre-med requirements in the near future and hope to attend one of the accredited Colleges of Naturopathic Medicine. Until then my husband and I are preparing to move back to Mooresville and start a family.

nt to A Cut Above cosmetology school instead. I did hair for nearly 5 years after graduation and boards. I hated it. I began premed classes at IUPUI but became enthralled with psychology and changed my major. I was ~one class short of having minors in communication and sociology when I graduated. IÂm taking some time off right now, but intend on going back to college in the future to finish my premed classes. My dream is to be a naturopathic physician. ThatÂs a general practitioner that uses natural therapies instead of drugs to treat ailments. Currently there are 4 accredited colleges in the US and thirteen states that license and regulate naturopaths. I hope to attend the Southwestern University of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ and perhaps move to Hawaii to set up my practice.
Workplace
I currently work for Castle Inspection Services. Although I still live in IN the main office is in Salt Lake City, UT. I have spent the last year traveling ~ every two weeks around the country inspecting homes and businesses for insurance companies. I have been to the UP of MI, Mackinac Island, through the Black Hills, the Ozarks and the Sierra Mnts., seen Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument, Traverse City, MI, most of the plains, all but one of the Great Lakes, Alabama and Mississippi. Currently I am trying to find another position within the company that doesnÂt require me to travel. ItÂs really hard to start a family when IÂm gone all the time.
