Lori's Story

Life Where to start? After leaving Serrano, my family moved to a small town, on the beautiful Oregon Coast, named Waldport. I lived there for ten years. During that time, I graduated from high school, got married, got divorced, went to college, recieved my CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant License) and my EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), and decided to move to Bend Oregon to go to nursing school. When it comes to my career, I was one of the lucky ones. I found my calling in 1995, actually, it found me, the medical field. No where have I been happier then to take care of the ill and injured. For three years, I made a home for myself in Bend. Bend gave me back my long lost snow capped mountains. Then life gave me a wonderful surprise. My first love found me, Brian Fulmer, from Serrano High School. He had been traveling the world in the Air Force for the last ten years, and had decided to make a career out of it. After 13 years of being apart, we knew we had to do all we could to not spend another day apart. So, I sold my house, quit my job at the hospital, packed up, and moved to where he was stationed, Little Rock Air Force Base Arkansas. We were married, August 12th 2000, exactly 15 years to the day we got together way back in 1985. We were stationed at Little Rock for three years. Eventhough I did not care for Arkansas, it was a wonderful three years. I lost most of the weight I was packing around, hiked, biked, and horse back rode through some beautiful countryside. realized, home is no one place, but with the ones you love. In June of 2003, the Air Force moved us to Ramstein Germany where we lived for four years. Europe was completely incredible: the Castles, the culture, the architecture, the history, everything. There was so much to see and do. After four years of traviling, we were ready to come home to the states. I have realized how lucky we American's are to live in such a free country. I took it for granted what I had living in this country. It was a very eye opening experience living and traviling out side of the US. In July of 2007, the Air Force moved us again, but this time to Hulburt Field Florida right on the gulf coast. We bought a home and are settling in to the American dream. I am enjoying livng on the coast again, sand between my toes and soaking up the sun. We have no children, just two fluffy ones: Molly, our fourteen year old Lasa Apso Mix, and our baby, Maggy, our eight mounth old Lasa Apso. I have learned, you never know where life is going to take you, it is definitely worth hanging around for! Brian only has a few more years in the Air force before he will be retiring from the military. It is hard to believe I have known him for twenty two years this year, and that he has been in the Air Force for almost eighteen years. He wants to start a second carreer after he retires, and we both want to move back to where we started, on the West Coast. But, like I said, you never know where life is going to take you. :-) Updated: November 2007
