Lovie's Story
Life
Since graduating from Freeport High School I've gotten married to my high school sweetheart, Joe Hall, graduated from Troy State University with a BS in Elementary Education, completed my Masters in Education at National-Louis University-Europe(Frankfurt), had three beautiful children, lived in Europe, Georgia and currently in Asia(Japan).
School
I loved going to Freeport High School. I hated it when the year ended and couldn't wait until it started. From the time I started in Ms. Birkland's 1st grade class until the day I walked across the track at graduation it was great. I remember kickball games on the old elementary playground under the oak trees,buying doughnuts for a dime from the Art Department, going skating with Summer Rec. and of course going to my first basketball game with my Grannie Daisy Lou in the old gym to watch my cousin Boots play(my idol by the way).
My favorite memory was falling in love with my soulmate, Joe Hall. I loved cheering for him during football season and hearing him cheer for me during basketball season. I skipped one day of school in my life and I asked my dad for permission to skip that day so I could go to the beach with Joe. I had no reason to skip, to me all the fun was...Expand for more

If I could change one thing about high school it would have been to be able to crown my little sister, Sheila homecoming queen in 1984. She was the most beautiful girl on the field. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat!
I'm sadened by the loss of some of my teachers that have passed away since my time at FHS. I know that without them it would not have been the same and I would not be who I am today without their influence.
College
I transfered to Troy State University in Jan. 1986. I worked at Subs-n-Such on University Avenue with my boyfriend(now husband)Joe Hall. I had so much fun with all the great people that worked there with us.
My roommate was a sweet Alpha Gam named "Pridge" who I still keep in touch with today. Where are all of those crazy frat guys that kept us entertained???(Jay Floyd, Sol Tepper, Jason Stephens, Moose????)
When my boyfriend, Joe left Troy State to serve our country I really buckled down and got busy on my degree. I met so many wonderful people through my education classes and was able to stay in touch with some of them but unfortunately,I've lost contact with some as well. I would love to hear from Gretchen Crim and Paula Lewis!
