Lowell's Story

AISES Sequoyah Fellow Lowell Martin Seida is 2020 Write-in Candidate for U.S. Senator for Illinois. I have worked on Judicial Reform, including authoring Illinois Supreme Court Rules 113 and 114, to require some measure of respect for Homestead Rights. The American Revolutionary War was fought over that, the British Quartering Act, which let British Crown representatives take Businesses, Homesteads, Family Heirlooms, even Family Bibles, from American Colonists, allowing them to pay, only what they felt like paying. November 1, 1778, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, who were the Chicago Militia, defeated the force of 100 British professional soldiers, Redcoats, who were sent from Forts Michilimackinac and Detroit to build British Fort Chicago. That would have put a British stranglehold on the Northwest Territory. I nominate the Chicago Militia for the U.S. Presidential Unit Citation. The September 16, 2008, start of the Great Recession, was due to inadequate Judicial Training about Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBSs). The effects of that $2+ Trillion RMBS Scandal, which included the criminal manipulation of LIBOR and the manufacture of millions of fake Mortgage Loan Agreements, ...Expand for more
continue even unto today. An ancestor of mine died in Alabama, in 1865, while serving in the 9th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry Regiment. His father, mother, sisters and brothers helped re-build Chicago, after the October, 1871, Great Fire. I was Valedictorian of Divine Infant Grammar School and St. Joseph High School, both in Westchester. I won a competitive appointment to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, but served in U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), instead, receiving a book award for excellence in military history. I graduated at the top of my Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Pharmacy Technician programs. The Great Recession began September 16, 2008. Its effects continue. Illinois suffered, and continues to suffer, because State of Illinois Judges did not receive enough training in Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBSs). As U.S. Senator, I would introduce legislation to set standards for better judge training and conduct of foreclosure proceedings. I have written the biography of the founder of the U.S. Olympic Committee, an Illinois U.S. Civil War Union Veteran, who rowed the Illinois and Michigan Canal, including through LaSalle County.
