Lucy's Story

Workplace After Conklin Center, worked under contract with 2 repertory theatre companies in TX & FL. Relocated to Maine in 1988 to be closer to family. Made a 180-degree turn and began working in for-profit vs non-profit sector. Worked for Weyer-Livsey Contruction until company dissolved a year later. So, went back to performing arts area to keep money coming in and saw much of Maine with the Maine Traveling Magic Theatre, a two-person show of magic set to music and comedy, with a state grant from the Dept. of Education, among others. r scheduling system. After 5 years, I switched to the Marketing dept. full-time and was the in-house computer graphics person for eastern USA and Europe. The last 2 yrs doing the last interferred with evening design school classes and voice lessons, but it was fun while it lasted. After 7 years there, married and relocated to husband's base of Anchorage, Alaska. Immediately began having kids and raising them, but sing for special occasions (weddings, funerals, birthdays) and create bead and wire jewelry and paint (watercolors). Have just begun a new venture as a Southern Living at Home Independent Consultant with a great team! This is a direct marketing division (party sales, etc.) of Southern Living Magazine with GREAT potential in Alaska (low no. of stores).
