luis's Story
From the tiny pod I called Mount Miguel HS, I ventured out into an uncertain world filled with evil spirits, loving creatures, and fattening foods. I wandered the planet in search of the "big deal" but came up empty. I explored religions that worshiped cattle to working in jobs that required me to chop onions. As the 80s came to a close, I found myself at a community college, hoping beyond hope, that I'll get my AA in something....anything! But, alas, I was not successful. I met many people there and later transferred to UCSD. My degree in American History covering the years 1919 to the beginning of WWII came in handy when I worked at an insurance company. ore than a few months. I never found my Mr. Right, but I sure did have fun in the meanwhile. But now at the ate of 48 I am content with my little job at a well-know, non-profit organization that helps developmentally disabled adults lead product lives. My mother has since past and I live with my father who is in his late 70s and thinks I'm Jesse Owens. I don't want to spoil his dreams so I often sprint around the house to show my father that I still have what it takes to win the gold medal way back in the 1930s. As for hobbies, I enjoy writing, dancing, and cooking...especially if someone else cooks since I'm an awful cook. I once almost burned down my house when I tried to peel a banana. That's how bad I am. As for Mount Miguel, I don't remember much of it. I have only passing images of places and events, teachers and students. Names escape me unfortunately. But thirty years is a long time. I am surprised I'm at all remembering the said named school. What was the name of the high school again??
