Lupe Solis:  

After graduation I took a year off to work then attended MSAC, ended up going to a barber college in Pasadena and became a hairstylist in 76, I worked in West Covina, and continued to take classes at MSAC. I had planned on going into the nursing program, but got sidetracked by marriage and children. I had a fun crazy life which included traveling all through Europe in 1980. I backpacked it through about 7 countries with a girlfriend. It was an amazing experience, I was only able to do that because I was still single. I got married in 81 had my first child in 82 had my second in 87, (yes I was a late bloomer) divorced and remarried in 91, had another child in 93 and the last one in 95. (yes I started all over again) Four kids...I'm exhausted! I also became a makeup artist about 86 and I worked doing hair and makeup in commercial photography and video. I worked with some amazing photographers and ended getting into photography myself. After the last child was born I had to stop that work because it took too much time away from home and family. I still work as a hairstylist, self employed, I work at home. Its been a good career because I can earn some money and still be at home for my kids. ...Expand for more
