Lydia's Story
Life
My Spouse
I met my current husband on a blind date. It was set up by two of our friends. We live in Daytona Beach, FL. where he is an architect. We both had bad first marriages, but our marriage is going strong.
My Pets
I used to have dogs, but due to my husbands allergies to animal fur I can't have a dog in the house. So instaed I am part owner in a show dog. It is a German Shorthaired Pointer. The dog lives with my sister and her husband in DeLand which is not too far from me, so I get visitation rights whenever I want.
My Kids
I have six children. Three of them are step-children. The three oldest are my husbands daughters from a previous marriage. I also have one daughter and two sons from a previous marriage. One of may step-daughters loves to travel abroad. She has been to Japan, England, Italy, and Australia. She is returning to Italy to live this summe...Expand for more
r. Another step-daughter has two children, a son and a daughter, so that makes me a grandma! My 26 year old daughter received her BS degree from Florida Southern College and a masters from UCF in Biological Research. She has also married, moved to Savannah, GA. and blessed me with another granddaughter. She teaches college biology part time and works for the Savannah Sand Gnats as their merchandizing coordinator. I have a 24 yr. old son who is a manager at Pinch-a-Penny Pool supply and trying to start his own pool cleaning business and an 21 yr. old son trying to decide what to do with his life. Both boys live in Daytona Beach.
My Job
I love my job. I teach a multi-age class of kindergarten and first graders.
It can be trying at times, but also very rewarding to watch children learn and grow right before you eyes. I can't think of anything else I would rather be doing!
