One of the things I am coming to realize that I did myself a serious injustice by doing many of my college classes remote or online because I did not have the opportunity to get know many of my classmates from UMA. I look at the names... but cannot connect and this saddens me. Did you know? I always wanted to be a dancer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were wrong to depress that dream. Instead, I married at 16, to escape my childhood nightmare to only enter a new one. I have 4 children...Lael, my oldest was born before I married. She was conceived in one of those young teen trysts. I was looking for someone to love me in all the wrong ways, like most teenagers do coming from abusive homes. Lael, I was wise enough to place for adoption, thus giving her the opportunity at a life free from violence. Then I married ...from my family home filled with violence to my husband...verbally, and physically abusive. We moved to Maine, where I became isolated from all that I knew. My three children with John came next, John, Chris and Amanda. They were the joy of my life. They are each adults now, living their own dreams. At least, I hope that is what they are. Chris and Amanda are very close to me, John has chosen to distance himself since I divorced his father. Amanda graduated from Lindenwood University on May 23rd, 2003. She was the first of my children to graduate college. I was so proud of her accomplishments. I filed for divorce on May 25th and also enrolled in college the same very day. It was my liberation day. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. My biggest surprise was how well I adapted to a grueling work schedule and my college class schedule.
