Lynn's Story
Life
After high school I went to Virginia Wesleyan College and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1991, I married my high school sweetheart JC. You would all remember him as JC Horton. Right after high school he changed his last name to his mother's maiden name-Aydlett. So I am Lynn Aydlett now. He also doesn't like to go by JC anymore and prefers his proper name James. Our familes and I still call him JC and always will. I had two beautiful children. Alora (b 1995) and Matthew (b 1997). I stayed home with Alora and Matthew when they were babies and would not trade that time I had with them for the world! During that time, JC was working as a restaurant manager. In 2000, I started teaching for Hampton City Public Schools. I taught 1st grade for 5 years there at Cary Elementary. After awhile, JC and I decided we were ready for a change. Virginia Beach was becoming more and more crowded. So in 2005, we moved to the mountains and we now live in North Carolina. Since being here I have taught 2nd grade and 1st grade. urant business were too much. I started graduate school at Appalachian State University in 2007 and will graduate July 2009. I really had put it off for way to long! When I am done I hope to start on a Doctorate program in education. I will probably take a short break before beginning that degree so JC can complete his degree first. My parents still live in Kempsville (in the same house since I was 7). My sister, who is ten years younger than me, lives in Virginia Beach and has 2 daughters who were born in 2003 and 2006. We travel back home as much as possible and visit Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and the beach when we can. Do I get homesick? Yes I do! You can take the girl out of Virginia Beach, but you can't take Virginia Beach out of the girl! It will always be my home. I don't know if we will ever move back. House prices have gone through the roof there and I don't know if I could ever afford to. But I will say moving to this part of North Carolina was like moving to another country and it took alot of adjusting. It is pretty here and very quiet. Anyways, JC and I would love to hear from old friends.
