Life I wonder how many of you knew my real name. People always referred to me as "Buddy" or "that weird retro chick". These were the kind ones. This was because of my love for anything from the 1950's or 60's and my obsession with Buddy Holly. This also resulted in me being labeled a freak since nobody else my age shared this interest. While I've expanded my musical horizons, I am STILL nuts about Buddy and all things retro. In fact my obsession led me to my husband (a musician) who I met while searching for a music teacher with an extensive knowledge of Holly's music. Two years later he proposed to me with a Fender Strat (just like Buddy's), which I still play. It was another 10 years before I agreed to take that looong walk down the aisle. After high school I went to college where I majored in art and english. I stopped after coming to the realization that a 9-5 job where you paint, sculpt, and write stories all day doesn't exist. A friend suggested I try hairdressing because it involved many of the same principles as art. I had no interest in this but decided to give it a shot. I ended up LOVING it! I work in a salon and also do freelance work for photo shoots, fashion shows, and commercials.
