Lynne's Story
Life
I joined the Navy where I met my husband. Have 4kids-25, 21, 18, 15 and 1 granddaughter 4. Our oldest is a Marine stationed in CA and has done 3 tours in Iraq. He has orders to NC in March. Currently living in NC with 3 kids, 4horses and 3 dogs on 50ac.
School
I could be found most of the time in the art room in high school. A year of college & I knew it was not for me. What better thing to do than join the Navy. Never thought that for a moment I would be where I am now. Was quiet & shy in school and still pretty much am, but do talk to people. Had a terrible fear of horses...Expand for more
and now can not let a day go by without some kind of involvment. I never thought that I would have had 4kids and a grandchild either.
Military
In '81 attended boot camp in Orlando. 1st duty station was Beeville TX at VT-25, loved working on the line. Had 1st child there and met husband. In '86 orders were in hand to Keflavik Iceland. Spent a year and a half at AIMD until 2nd child came along. We lived there for a total of 4yrs and then came to MCAS Cherry Point where husband retired 2001.
Recently I found a few people on Facebook where a small Arvada West group has been started.
