Lynne's Story
Life
I'm married for over 25 years to Bob Schoepfer class of 1977 from West Islip and we have 2 kids our son is 23 and our daughter 20. Bob works at Brookhaven National Lab. Met my husband at OBI South.For those of you that may remember I still ride horses, my daughter has been riding since age 8. We also have 3 dogs and 1 bird.I am the Executive Director at Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue. I also do volunteer obedience training at Save A Pet Animal Shelter in Port Jeff Sta. It is a no kill non profit animal rescue shelter. I also do Humane Ed in all local schools and do all Girl Scout badges regarding pets. We live in Stony Brook (I can't seem to leave)and my kids are the highlight of my world. My daughter is attending Hofstra University for marketing, my son attends SUNY Stony Brook as a Psych major... boy am I in trouble if he ever starts to analyze me! Workplace
I am a full time volunteer at Save-A-Pet in Port Jeff Sta. My work there over the past seven years I feel, has given me total fulfillment. Some of you may remember from school that I have always been involved in some way with animals. Well, now I have expanded that interest. At Save-A-Pet I do several things, I do public showcasings monthly at local stores and malls of the many animals that we have up for adoption,I also do classroom and scout presentations in the local area to educate the kids on the work that we do at the shelter,I have also become somewhat literate on the computer by keeping our web site you know what it begins with then add saveapetli.net updated. If you have teenage kids that need or want to do community service stop in to see me I began a Jr. Volunteer Program to get the local kids involved.
