Madelyn's Story
Life
I married Cecil T. Simpson on Oct 4th, 1963 while I was a junior at MHS. We lived in Lubbock until both of us graduated. Cecil graduated from TTU with a Master degree in Chemistry and I graduated from MHS. We moved to Rochester, NY where Cecil worked for Kodak and while there our first child was born; Richard Carl Simpson. We stayed there only a year then moved to Port Arthur, TX where Cecil worked for the Texaco Oil Refinement Company. Then we moved back to Lubbock when our son Richard was about to start elementary school. Cecil then started his own business called "Preferred Color Lab" on the old Brownfield Hwy. While in Lubbock our family increased with the birth of our oldest daughter, Sherri Marenda Simpson and only three years later the birth of our identical twins: Crystal Gayle and Debbie Marlene Simpson. stayed in Lubbock until both twin daughters married in 2000. At that time the Marsha Sharp Freeway changed the old Brownfield Hwy, so we moved to High Rolls, NM. We live third house from the top of a beautiful mountain just opposite of the emergency truck off ramp before High Rolls, NM. All our children are married, Richard and his wife Jenny live in Fort Worth, TX, Sherri and her husband, Wade Thompson, live near Winnsboro, TX, Crystal and her husband, Larry Powell, live just down the same mountain that we live on, and Debbie and her husband, Andy Dean live in Irving, TX. Cecil and I have five grandchildren with the latest grandson being born Sept 11th, 2007. Our grandchildren in order of when they were born are: Rose Berry Powell, Wesley Cameron Dean, Autumn Renee Dean, Nicholas Benjamin Powell, and Jaden Wade Thompson.
