Mae's Story
I left Milwaukee in 1975 when I married and moved to New Orleans. Lived for awhile in Champaign, IL, while my husband completed his doctorate and I worked as an Equal Opportunity Officer at The University of Illinois (Go Illini). inted as the first African American Dean at the University of Georgia (Go Bulldogs)to lead the College of Education. He just stepped down to return to the classroom as a professor.
I have two grown children and two cats. After a career in Higher Education as a program director, counselor/advisor, I am retired. I am active in community programs and patiently await grandchildren to spoil!
