Marcia's Story
Greetings!
I came to this area over 40 yrs ago when my first husband, Jim Meikle, took a position with Geauga Lake Amusement Park. We originally moved to Hudson, OH.
After Jim and I divorced, I met and married Grant Juengel and moved to Cuyahoga Falls. Grant passed away in 2006.
I have a son and daughter, 2 step-children, all in this area, and 5 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren, scattered all over.
I worked for over twenty years as an Administrative Assistant for a brokerage firm. I retired in April, 2009 and spent the summer just enjoying life. But once the NE Ohio winter set in, I went to work again. I now work for the Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties, OH, again as an Administrative Assistant. What began as a part-time, temporary job has become a permanent position and I am appreciating the chance to be able to help in any way I can. It is amazing to see how our community supports families in crisis.
I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting the grandchildren in whatever it is they are participating in at the moment. I see a lot of football, basketball, gymnastic...Expand for more
s, dancing, wrestling; with 13 of them there is a wide choice. I have an 8 year old Cairn Terrier, Sadie, who is my shadow. I love to read, real books and down-loaded on my iPad and love to travel, as of late with my sister, Julie, whose daughter is a student and hockey goalie at Norwich Univ. in Vermont. In the past I've gone to tournaments as far away as Madison, WI and earlier this year to Vermont and New York. We always manage a stop at a casino or two along the way. I enjoy my home and yard, although it is getting to be a task at time to maintain. Thank goodness for a very talented and supportive son-in-law and daughter. I also spend time keeping up with my extended family online and on Face. Dining out with friends and family is another pleasure in my life.
This year will mark the 12th year in a row that I've volunteered at the Bridgestone Tournament of Champions at Firestone Country Club. The last 10 years I've been a Marshal on the 15th hole, most of the time at the green. If anyone is in Akron for this event, please look me up.
