I know that childhood did nothing to prepare me for adulthood. I grew up so controlled that it caused me to rebel, and that rebellion caused me to flop around like a fish out of water until I was 40 something. After about 4 years of married life, I chose to be single with children. nd 13 1/2 years ago and 4 years ago we moved to the Cariboo and started a fabric store. I think I should have moved here years ago, I LOVE the winters!!
I don't think many would have guessed it at the time, but I was painfuly shy around my peers in school. I guess I had spent so much time in extracurricular classes, and with adults, I found it hard to relate to my classmates. I'm sure I came across as snooty, but I was really just frightened. I'm over that now. If life has taught me anything worthwhile, it's that most people just want to be accepted for how they are.
