MARGARET's Story

2011 Hi. Last year I retired from my job as special ed. healthcare assistant with LAUSD. I worked at Salvin special ed. center which is for the children who are too severely disabled to benefit from classes at a regular ed.school. I was with the most severe fragile ones with medical protocols like tube feeding, oxygen therapy, catheterization, medication, tracheostomy suctioning, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it,s great to be retired. this year I became a grandma for the first time, a little girl. We have two sons, Greg and Jeff, both married. Greg is the new daddy. Greg and his family live in walking distance from us. Jeff and his...Expand for more
wife are close by too in Culver city. My husband, Dave is a retired aerospace engineer. He learned plumbing at LA Trade Tech in order to repipe our home himself. Next came plumbing work at our church (Del Rey Hills EV Free) and from there it became a full time job. Now at 84 he is pretty much retired from that too . I keep busy with gardening/landscaping our property, home improvement, our three cats, and of course babysitting Anika. This year a grandson was born eleven months ago, Alrik Rhys Ammon. A ball of energy, stands on his head when you try to change his diaper! Still enjoying the same things including Community Bible Study. 2013
