Margaret Ann's Story
I divorced my second husband in 2012. By chance, I reconnected with someone I knew from highschool; but not well. Now, he has become the love of my life and I did not expect to ever feel this way again. Here I am at age 64, feeling better about myself than I have ever felt or at least in a very long time.

School
What can one say about something I took for granted. While in school, I didn't realize how important those years were. Looking back, I wish I had handled them differently. I was not a joiner; I didn't want to participate in groups that separated themselves into an elevated status. That totally turned me off; still does. But now, I realize I could have joined and still maintained who I was. If nothing else, I am proud of the person I was that wouldn't let myself believe I was better than anyone else but still as good as anyone. In High School I think...Expand for more
it is easy to forget that sometimes when we feel special and tend to elevate ourselves.
If I could change anything, it would be to try harder; academically than I did. It should have been more important to me than it was. Hindsight being 20/20 I realize that was my shortcoming.
Workplace
I started at Banquet Foods Corp. in February of 1976 as a file clerk earning $95 a week. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time and moved out of the file room to the Invoicing department within three months. I stayed in Invoicing for about a year and then was offered the position of Accounts Payable Supervisor. When Banquet reorganized I went to Country Skillet Catfish, another company owned by Con Agra. I worked there for one year before they moved back to Mississippi and I moved again, this time to Home Brands. The home office for Home Brands was in Minneapolis, Mn. I worked for Home Brands until I left in February of 1989; thus ending my 13 yrs with Con Agra.
