Margot's Story
After graduating from high school, I went to The University of Toledo where I received my Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Master of Business Administration degrees. Early in my career I mainly worked in engineering positions.
Twenty-one years ago I met my best friend Bert Hoffman, who is also an engineer (but in electrical engineering). We both worked together at Eaton Corporation. Bert and I have now been married for almost 18 years, and what an adventure those 18 years have been.
Bert and I have not been blessed with any children, but we have 9 nieces and nephews who we really enjoy spending time with. Bert is currently a group manager with Anheuser Busch, which makes him a favorite among friends & family where he is known as the "Bud Man".
The past 20 years I have enjoyed a rewarding and fullfilling career with Dana Corporation. Although, I started off with Dana in engineering, I have also held positions in corporate training, program management, new product launches and general management. My career has taken me around the world to places I never imagined visiting (China, India, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Thailand, Europe, etc.), which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

ule. Bert and I had the wonderful opportunity to spend 2-1/2 years in Melbourne, Australia. We loved living in Australia and had the opportunity to go back for a visit in 2006.
In January 2007 I was promoted to a Product President position and was the first woman appointed to Dana's Executive Committee. The past two years have been difficult and challenging as Dana had to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Fortunately Dana emerged from bankruptcy in February 2008.
As you can see, my career has been an important part of my life, and just this month I made a life changing decision. I decided to "retire" from Dana and take a bit of time off while I decide what I want to do for my "next career".
I'm taking guitar lessons, working out more, doing community service with Zonta International and spending more time with Bert and friends/family. I plan on going back to Australia for a month in the Fall, then I'll come back and start searching for my next career.
Chris (Ikle) Jackson only lives about 15 minutes from me and we get together frequently, and both of us talk to Jackie (Horn) Marry regularly. We also saw Beth (Walsh) Swanson a couple months ago when she was visiting her college alma mater.
