Maria's Story
I moved around so many times that there's so many people I'm trying to find. I just don't know where to begin. I'm hoping my old friends will find me. In 1977 I moved from Vancouver, BC, to Rifle, CO where we lived for about 3 years. From there I moved to Pahrump, NV for about a year. Then to Moab, UT for less than a year, to Clearlake, CA for a year where I graduated at Lower Lake Jr. High, then to Montrose, CO. where we moved right before my Senior year of high school. And finally ending up in Sacramento, CA in 1985 and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1986. I've been in Sacramento ever since. Even though I graduated in Elk Grove High, I still consider Montrose High to be my graduating school because of being there for 3 years.
Went to Sac City and Sac State for a few years, but didn't get a chance to get a degree because of the evil world of making a living seemed more important at the time.
Worked at the airport giftshop for a few years. Left there and worked at a oil change shop as a cashier and at the Corp office as a receptionist. Stayed...Expand for more
there for a few years. When the Corp office cut back and I was asked to start assisting in cleaning the cars in the shop, that was my sign to get out. I then worked at a books & magazines distribution company. Left there when I had my first daughter. After 3 years of being a stay at home mom, I decided to enter the workforce again. I worked at an investment company for almost 10 years in various departments. I ended up leaving there after having my 2nd daughter. And again after 3 years, I went back into the workforce. I’ve been with one of the largest health insurance company since, currently as a Business Process Consultant.
I have 2 beautiful daugthers, 25 years old and 13 years old. Yes, big gap but each get spoiled in their own time. I've lived in Sacramento, CA for about 20+ years. My husband is a Drafting Engineer at a communication company. We have four Shiba Inu dogs/puppies named Drako (papa), Kaidatu (mama), Loki and Thor (their sons). I am also a breast cancer survivor since 2012.
