Maria's Story
Life.....
Once again, life moves on whether we like it or not. Some good things, some bad things. I lost my oldest son Jimmy on August 28th (2008). He was only 29 years old. I thought nothing could be harder than losing my brother (Tony October 1st, 2003. ). As much as that hurt, nothing comes close to losing one of your children. This has definitely been the hardest most challenging year of my life. My life will never be the same again. I'll go on, but things will be different from here on out. I'm just trying to figure out how to live my new life. I don't like it, but I have others to think about.
I am trying to keep busy as I am a full time student and have been for the last 5 years. I graduated with my Associates Degree this past July (2008) and am now a senior at Ferris State University. My major is in Criminal Justice and I would love to attend U of M Law School in Ann Arbor when I'm done (shooting for 2011). My long term goal is to become a judge. We'll see about that ;o). Jennifer (29), my daughter lives up in Port Austin and is the mother of my only grandchild Aaron who is 9. He's smarter than all of us. Jennifer has her realestate license, does nails on the side, has her Associates Degree in Business Administration and works...Expand for more
full time. My son Joey who is 21 lost his job with the rest of Michigan just moved back in with us "¿" and is attending school full time for Business Administration. My youngest Tommy is 14 going on 35 and just started high school (9th grade). I'm getting SOOOO old!
I still work out of my home at a business I enjoy. I sell infant and toddler sunglasses (among other things). If any of you have little ones of your own, check out the site. It's called ebabybanz.com. It has allowed me to stay home with the kids, but I'm looking for something else now. My husband Tom is an engineer and works down in Sterling Heights at Mag Powertrain. We moved almost 12 years ago to North Branch which is in Lapeer County. We have 10 acres and it is VERY rural out here. My youngest boys LOVE it though (Scrappy, Vinnie, and Lucky, they have their own photo album). The nearest neighbor is a couple acres away. It definitely took some getting used to, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I still visit family down in the city and every time I get lost in that traffic I am happy I live where I live. I hope all who are reading this are doing well. If you know me, feel free to drop me a line here or at maria at(use the at sign with no spaces) ebabybanz (dot) com.
