Jennifer and her husband Joe have three children: Jenna is 17, Jessa is 15 1/2, Joey is 14. Amy's daughter Adysan is six, and Abygail is three. E-mailing and keeping in contact with classmates are my favorite hobbies!! PLEASE write to me!! I would love to hear from ANYONE who attended Lakota in the sixties!
School:
After graduating from the eighth grade at Union Twp. Elementary School, West Chester, OH in May, 1960; I had back surgery (spinal fusion for scoliosis) during the summer and was home-schooled my freshman year by Mr. Wm. Ross. I then started at Lakota as a sophomore in Sept., 1961.
I LOVED school and was in many after-school clubs/activities. I especially enjoyed acting in the Jr. & Sr. Class plays and marching with the drill team during my senior year!
I have many fond memories of school and friends and love to attend reunions! Let's all keep in touch!!!!
College:
I was a freshman living with 11 other girls on the Main Floor in King Hall during the 64-65 school year. My roommate was Cheryl White. Remember watching "Miss America" and "Peyton Place" in Mrs. Weber's apartment? Remember how much fun we had walking to the Student Union for meals, singing "Michael, Row the Boat Ashore" all the way?? PLEASE write and we can reminisce.
Work:
My first job was...Expand for more
at the Service Center/Board of Missions for the EUB Church in Reading, OH. I started there in June, 1965 and quit to attend college in Sept., 1966. I worked in the Billing & Crediting Dept.
My second job was at SEARS in Tri-County beginning in March, 1967; for the opening in May, 1967. I began in the Credit Dept., but moved to the Customer Service Dept. after a few months and remained there until I quit shortly after getting married in Aug., 1970.
My third job was for Casper & Casper, Attorneys in Middletown, OH from Dec., 1975 until May, 1979. I was the Receptionist and a Legal Secretary.
My fourth job was at KinderCare in Middletown, OH from Dec., 1986 until I retired in Nov., 1997 to care for my first granddaughter. I was the Ass't. Director and the Pre-K teacher.
My fifth job was working for ODOT at the Interstate Travel Information Centers on I-75 in Butler County and I-71 in Warren County, OH. I was employed there from Sept., 2000 until Feb., 2002. Working at the TICs was the greatest job of all for me!! I got to meet folks from all over the world traveling through Ohio. I handed out free maps and brochures for all the interesting places to visit in Ohio, and I got to give directions to destinations all over the USA. What a fabulous job!
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right!.
