Marijane's Story

Life I've been working in the Medical Industry for most of my working years. First in New york then West Palm Beach, Fl. and now in Georgia. Right now I'm working as a Coding Consultant at at local Hospital. I basically read pt's medical records all day. It can be very interesting, but sometimes it can seem like a giant puzzle with missing pieces. Oh well... My husband Alan works as a global accounts manager for SBC Communications (South Western Bell). He's a great guy and was my rock when I lost my mom suddenly last June. We live about 30 minutes north of Atlanta, in a really nice community that's only a few years old. It's amazing what you can get for the money down here. We have a 5 bedroom, 4 bath home for just the two of us. Crazy..I know, but we love it! I have a neice who's moving with her family over Memorial week-end to North Carolina from Rochester NY. I also have three other neices who sold their homes just outside of Boston, and they too are moving to North Carolina to be near their parent's (my brother and sister-in-law). I guess the snow was a little too much for them this winter. I don't miss the snow, we do actually get a little. It's funny to hear all the school closings when just the thought of a snow is mentioned on the news. We did go to Las Vegas this past March with my brother Frank, and his wife Helen. Wow, what a week!!! We took my dad, who was celebrating his birthday. He's 88 and still going strong! In a few weeks, Alan and I are going to Vermont for my nephew's wedding. The family has really grown over the years, I just wish we didn't all live so far from each other. We have 8 nieces and 3 nephews ranging from 37 to 8. And six are married with children. So that makes 3 great nieces and 3 great nephews. There's a 16 year difference between my oldest brother and my younger sister, so that...Expand for more
accounts for the age span of my nieces 37 & 8. I also have a niece who's living in England with her husband and son John. I'm really looking forward to being able to drive up to NC to see more of the family this summer and for the holidays. I think Alan gets a little overwhelmed when we're around my family, since he's an only child. But I know he loves being uncle Alan, even if it's just to the younger kid's. Next year..maybe Europe?? Aug. 2015: I finally made it to England, again. First time was terrible, this time it was awsome!! My brother Frank planned the whole trip and we did get to see soooo much. I'll should include my sister-in-law Helen as she was there too. We also got to visit my niece Kristin and her family up in Telford outside of London about three & 1/2 miles from Wales. The weather was perfect and it only rained 1 day. If it wasn't so expensive, I would love to live there. The british people are so friendly and fun! Can't wait to go back. Virgin Atlantic airlines was amazing as well. Next time I want to go with Alan. He couldn't come this time since he just started his own company and was way too busy and had to take care of Blondie. She's our little cocker spaniel, who I refer to as our special needs child. We adopted her at 3 yo and found out she had glaucoma. She lost one eye and after laser surgery on the other, the retina detached and she went blind. Two years later she started having seizures, and now at 11 1/2 she has renal failure. She get's fluids three times a week and holds out for human food instead of kibble...little stinker. But we love her so much we do what we can to keep her comfortable. Oh, one more silly thing. In high school I was painfully shy and quiet. As I got older I'm not shy anymore and talk to everyone. I also found my funny side that I like to share as much as possible.
