Mark's Story

Life Nid wyn gofyn bywyd moethus I seek not a life of riches Aur'y bydd nai berloid man Earthly gold nor finest pearls Gofyn rwyf ond calon hapus All I seek is a heart that is happy Calon onest, Calon Lan. A heart that is honest, A heart that Is pure. Eighteen years since I have seen most of you! What a long time it has been! Who was I? I was the kid with the longish hair, usually wearing some St.Louis Cardinals t-shirt. Since then, I have been nearly everywhere I ever wanted to visit, have lived in many different places, worked in many different jobs from retail sales to National Security. Who else was I? I was the one who was too bloody lazy to do much school work, too shy to develop any lasting friendships with you. I was the one who left early to pursue a pipe dream. I suppose I was the one whom you thought was a loser, and ne'er do well, and you were right! It took years of hard knocks to realise this, and admit that it was in essence the perception of me. Who else was I? The one who secretly crushed after many pretty girls who didn't know that I existed. I came, and went from Jefferson with no lasting impression left upon any of you, unless it may have been a bad taste left in my wake. I was the one who skipped a...Expand for more
s much school as I attended, and thought I was cooler than anyone of you. Pretty arrogant for a kid who many of you didn't even know, eh? Who am I now? I am husband to a wonderful wife Stephanie whom I met while living in the Detroit area (the piece at the top of the page is an old Welsh wedding hymn which was performed at our wedding at Victoria Chapel), I am daddy to a beautiful daughter Ainsley Morgan, and stern taskmaster to Max, the dumbest Italian Greyhound on the planet. I am public servant, I am constant student of various elearning programmes from Oxford University, and eCornell. Finally recieved my first degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after many of you had began real careers. Right, so I was a late bloomer! At the moment, we live just outside Baltimore, Maryland, but we will be relocating to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as the trees begin to turn, and before the latest addition to the family arrives in the early part of 2006 (please for a healthy child!) I suppose we have all done much growing up since leaving Jefferson, and in many cases Rockford. I wonder what many of you have been up to since then. Due to distances, and time constraints I seldom get back to Rockford, so I wonder what each of you are like now, and how much you have changed since JHS days.
