Mark's Story
You may not remember me from school. That's because I wasn't actually there. But let me tell you a story of Nutana Class of 1978.
My parents brought me from Europe in June 1965. Our destination was Saskatoon. We stayed in what is now the Venture Inn, or Northgate, on Louis Riel Trail. We stayed at the motel while my father looked for a job, and had meals at the restaurant next door.
For some reason my parents decided to move back east. We left from the Via train station before my fifth birthday and I haven't been back to Saskatoon since. I remember the train stopping for a while by what used to be the Robin Hood grain elevator downtown. I ended up graduating from high school on the U.S. side of Niagara Falls in 1978.
But I always wondered what life would have been like on the prairie. I was always reminded of it while growing up because I liked the song, "Running Back To Saskatoon".

e I thought I would remember the motel we stayed at if I could see it. I looked around Saskatoon until I found it.
I picked out Nutana because it is the closest high school to where we stayed and it sounds like the kind of school I would have went to.
I would just like to say Hello to my Would-Have-Been classmates if my parents had decided to stay in Saskatoon. They were used to hills and valleys and I think Saskatoon was too flat.
I have a widely-read blog, with many readers in the Toronto area, markmeeksideas.blogspot.. I write about a wide variety of subjects and we visit somewhere in the world every week. There is also a book, "Secrets Of Health And Fitness".
But I am not trying to sell you anything. After recently turning 60 I decided to see if I could contact my Would-Have-Been classmates out on the prairie.
I am into the Bible, health and fitness, widower no children, concentrate on my writing, political centrist.
