Mark's Story

Life I have lived in Southern California for the past 22 years. I am married with a beautiful wife Shawna, and two handsome boys; Casey 14 yrs old and Logan 10. I coach three "Club Baseball" teams year round. My profession is producing Youth Athletic Sports Training Videos. You can check out my latest at magicfundamentals(dot)com. It's a basketball training video that "killer kosobucki" would be proud of. Plus Harold Reynolds presents Baseball and most recent "big league baseball fundamentals" on FOX networks. As you can see, once a "jock" always a "jock". My mom and dad are doing just fine on Nandale Dr., as well as all of my brothers and sisters. I get home at least once a year. Hope to see you. 949-874-7764 Call me! School Ahhhh... to begin school life at St. Josephat's RC School. I still remember having to wear a navy blue tie with the initials "SJS" embroidered in gold down the front. Having to make it to church on time for 8:AM Mass every morning. Then being ushered into the "old school" building for Kindergarten with Mrs. Pajak! And if we were good, we would have a special treat, Miss Vivian Konfederath, would come in and sing for us! OK, I remember a few of my nuns, of course Mother Superior Antonell, Sr. Innocent (now works at Tops), Sr. Lynette ( Small and frail w/ freckles), Sr. Clarissima (The original Sea Hag in Popeye), Sr. Matilda (Mighty Matilda, with the "club arm"), Sr. DuPaul (sweet as honey) and Sr. Paulencia (with an ass as big as a "Texas Ham" but one cheek was a lot bigger than the other???). I remember seeing the movie "Polly Anna" every year, I remember having the "Singing Nuns Record ablum played over the loud speaker during class... Joy is Like the Rain" And we all had to buy the album. My favorite song off of the album was "Zaccius". I remember BUYING "Pagan Babies" and to eat everything on you plate cause, there were kids starving in Biafra?? I traded Marty Kasprczak a half of sandwich once in order for him to name a Pagan Baby after me. I can now imagine a 30 something year old African Militant with the last name of PRZYBYLAK! I loved lunch break, playing hand ball against the old school building, or kick ball on the street across from the rectory. And I can't leave out walking across the street to "Springs" later to be named "Gays" to spend a dime on a whole small brown bag of penny candy, of a "Big Buddy" chewing gum. or a set of "wax lips" And of course, baseball cards. If the line was too long you could opt to shop at Konfederaths for your candy as well, but the selection wasn't nearly as good, and Mr. Konfederath was always in a bad mood. I was never a "Patrol Boy" because I hated to narc on my friends, but I was an altar boy. Scariest day of my life was when at the ...Expand for more
age of 9yr, I had to stand at the head of an open casket with the crusifix, at the funeral of an old bald headed guy. Yikes!! I can still see him. How about Father Frank being named a Monsignor, and having the huge celebration for him, or how about when he came to each classroom to hand out report cards, and stapled at the very top of it was the amount of "collection" that you personally contributed to the church!! I remember saying mass in Latin, singing May Devotions in Polish, and yet never once ever knowing what the hell I was singing about. It all just sounded good. The crowning of Mary at the outside 'Grotto" every May for the beginning of the month of May with the 8th grader wearing their "Hope Ribbons". As Altar Boys, we used to flip to see who got to light the incense, and would get to swing it during a service, also it was always a fight to see who would ring the bells at mass. I still don't know all the words to the "Confeteor" nor will I ever claim to. Ahhh.. report cards at the end of the year, you guessed it, CRYSTAL BEACH!!! Yep we used to be able to take our report cards to ACME Market or TOPS and redeem our A's and B's for tickets to enjoy the rides at Crystal Beach. What a blast! I also remember Christmas plays, and having to sing a song about "popcorn balls", and of course Santa Claus visited us and handed out a gift to every student. How about getting the job of cleaning erasers after school? The big white on would cover alot of ground when used, but when cleaned by clapping it together with another of it's kind, would leave a plume of white dust that looked like a nuclear explosion. Every once in a while if you got a wild hair up you ass, you would throw one of the little black erasers at someone and leave a perfect rectangle of powder on their back! Bullseye! One of the saddest chapters in my life was when I had decided to leave St. Josephat's after 6th grade. I really missed you guys. Sorry! College I remember "Steak Night" at the cafeteria, and the awesome "Food Fight" that took place in the cafeteria on Halloween Night 1978. It was just after the movie "Animal House" was just recently released. Classic! I also continue to hold on to the memories of attending BSU House parties with Rance Davis, Elroy and the crew! Thanks for including me. Of course, living in Sykes Dormatory freshman year was the best time of all! Lots of new friends, lots of comical experiences! I miss all of it, haven't been back since I graduated. I am now producing Athletic Training Videos. You can check them out. magic fundamentals (on NBA TV) big league baseball fundamentals.
