Mark's Story
Life
1975-1979 U.S. Navy, as a Aviation Machinist Mate Stationed in San Diego, Alameda, aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, Consolation, and Enterprise. Then went to work for an Aircraft company in San Diego from 1979 to 1985 work on the C-130, 747, F-14 and Proto Typed the 757, A-300, and A-310. Moved to Denver and built a construction company. Got married and divorced. Moved back to San Diego and met my current wife. We have been married sixteen years and have two wonderful kids. We moved to Rochester NY in 1990 and love it here except for the occasional snowstorm and some very cold winters. I currently work in the Food Industry I am a Food Technologist with a Dessert Company I work in R&D designing dessert toppings and flavors for restaurants and food service companies. My Kids are the greatest (all parents say that, I just never thought that I would have kids) Jessica is the oldest at 16 and a lovely girl she is, Robert is 13 and all boy from Video Games to sports. I live in the Village of East Rochester it is a tight village with a lot of charm and community spirit. It is mostly a working class town with friendly neighbors and community activities. There is one school Pre-K through 12th Grade the kids look out for each other. It is a place that fells safe. The State of New York is different than I would have pictured it is very green, and open two miles for trout fishing, ten miles for deer and turkey hunting. Around the corner for golf this area of western New York has more golf courses per capita than anywhere in the US. I am a cancer survivor in the fall of 2002 I under went a small bowel resection be cause I had Duodenum Adenocarcinoma, a semi rare form of cancer. To this date I am cancer free and living it up. I hope you are healthy and enjoying life.
School
I just wish I wouldn't have got stoned so much and took school more seriously. It took 6 years to make up for what I missed in school. I wish I ...Expand for more
had more friends from school, but it seems that I hungout with a different group, or class.
College
I started and stopped for quit a few years not getting the hang of studing, I didn't do much of it in high school, or the Navy. Went back hard at it in 1987, had to stop to help with my daughter. Moved to New York and I am working in Food Manufacturingso I have finished my degree in Organic Chemistry. I started in 1979 finished in 2002. I am now working on a Culinary Arts Degree.
Military
I saw a lot of the world, and there is nothing out there as nice a home, and the USA. I served on four Carriers with the Air Wing. I have been up on deck in the best and worst weather. My training made it available for me to have a great Job when I got out. I sometime miss being underway, but then I wake up and I am glad that I here and not there. That is for the young.
Work
I left the Navy and went to work for a Aircraft Sub contractor in San Diego. I work there 5 years and left to work in construction and did that for 3 1/2 yrs in Colorado. Then I moved back to San Diego and went to work for a Chemical Company and met my wife. We maried in 1988 and moved to Rochester NY where she is from. I have been working in the Food Industry for about 25 yrs now. I am a Food Technologist work for Customer such as McDonald's, Kellogg's, Burger King, General Mills, and Quaker Oats/ Pepsi. I love the work I do. It is always challenging and ever changing. My Wife and I have been married for 24 of the best and worst years of my life. I have two incrediable Children/ Adults. They are the greatest part of my wife and my life. They are ever challenging me to think outside the box since they are both mathmatics majors, but in different areas. Jessica is a pure mathmatics where Robert is doing applied mathmatics. I look back and I barely graduated form high school. I had no focus, no drive, and no real goals. Thank God for the Navy.
