Mark's Story
Life
I was born 18 Sep 1961 in Heidelberg, Germany. My father was in the US Army. After some time in Germany, the family moved to Georgia where my father was stationed at Ft Benning. After he went to Vietnam, the family moved to Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland. After a bit in Maryland, the family moved back to Nurnberg, Germany. After a few years in Nurnberg, we moved to Mannheim, Germany, then Zweibrucken, Germany. In 1975 the family moved back to the states, Ayer, Massachusetts. We stayed there until 1978 and then, you guessed it, we moved back to Nurnberg, Germany. I graduated from high school there in 1979. After taking a year off from school, my brother and I returned to the states without the rest of the family and attended college. I went to North Dakota State University in Fargo. I completed one and a half years in college and dropped out. Between my freshman and sophomore I joined the air national guard going to basic training and technical school as an administrative specialist. After dropping out of college, I moved in with my folks in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. After six months there, I went active duty in the US Air Force. After a rewarding twenty year career taking me to places such as Grand Forks AFB North Dakota; Brussels Belgium; Torrejon AB Spain; Eaker AFB Arkansas; Izmir AS Turkey; Rhein Main AB Germany; and finally Francis E. Warren AFB Wyoming. I have been in Cheyenne Wyoming since August 1996 and finally retired here in May 2002. I went to truck driving school to get my commercials driving license and still looking for the right job. I started out driving for Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse and looking for the ultimate driving job. I was working for Plug In, a branch of IKON copy machines delivering throughout the region until IKON stopped using the company to delivery the copy machines and it was forced to terminate. I started a new job called Action Cargo Express delivering pharmaceuticals and air freight. On April 2006, I started a new career with the Lowes Distribution Center as a yard driver. I married my wife Cely in 1988. I have two daughters, Jennifer born 1985 and Katherine born 1987. I also have one son Christopher born in 1988.
