Tanya's Story

Febuary 12, 2010---MARRIED, 3 CHILDREN...AGES: MIKAL: 49, JERRY: 47, TAMMI: 45. MY HUSBAND, SAM RETIRED AFTER 47 YEARS WITH THE SAME COMPANY ON APRIL 30, 2008. WE HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, AND LIVED IN 16 HOUSES, CITIES, AND STATES, SO HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE OUR LAST MOVE, LAST HOUSE, CITY & STATE. WE JUST SOLD OUR HOUSE IN N.C. TO THE D.O.T. They were building a Beltway through our house. We MOVED TO A GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB 55+ COMMUNITY IN OCALA, FL. ON DEC. 6TH, 2009. I HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE, HUSBAND, CHILDREN,19 GRANDCHILDREN and two Great-Grandchildren. LIKE EVERYONE...YES, WE HAVE HAD OUR SHARE OF HEARTBREAK, AND PROBLEMS, BUT ALL IN ALL WE HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY AND BLESSED IN SO MANY WAYS. WE HAVE MANY FRIENDS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, WHOM WE TRY TO STAY IN CONTACT WITH ON A REGULAR BASIS, HOWEVE...Expand for more
R THIS HAS BEEN A HARD YEAR FOR THAT, retiring, moving, and getting settled in. I HAVE A LOT OF MAKING UP TO DO. THE GREAT THING ABOUT HAVING GREAT FRIENDS IS THAT THEY UNDERSTAND. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE ALL OF MY 'POWELL SCHOOL' AND 'PHILLIPS HIGH' FRIENDS. MISS ALL OF YOU, AND THINK ABOUT YOU OFTEN. This is now Febuary 12, 2015. We Lost one of our Grandsons on March 13, 2014. He was 23 years old. He was riding his motorcycle to work and went over a railroad track, where his front wheel got caught in the track somehow, and it threw him 35' in the air and he hit an oncoming car. This is a tragedy you never want to go through in your family. This has been an extremely difficult year for our whole family. With time, family, good friends, and prayer we will recover from this. Hope everyone has a wonderful New 2015...!
