3/11/08: I've had an amazing journey since leaving "barbietown" 34 years ago. At least that's what my daughters called Woodmere when they saw it for the first time last summer. Princeton was an extraordinary experience, although I think I was a few years too young to take it in fully. After a fairly quick masters degree in southern california, I stopped trying to fit into the world in which I grew up. High school teaching in Miami in my 20's was my way of taking my love of history, soccer and tennis to adolescents with whom (thanks Ms. Astle) I had a natural gift - and maybe Bout and Joe had a lot to do with it as well. I loved my five years at Palmer School, maybe because it it was one of the best professional fits I have ever enjoyed. Hitting 30 found me thinking about becoming a Headmaster of a private school - but I wound up on a different path. I completed a doctoral program in Boston and Salt Lake and wound up a professor in secondary education.
