Mary (Mimi)'s Story
Hi, I am Mimi Byrne (Zeigler) and I graduated from Michael Reese in 1975. I went on to receive my BSN from Northwestern in 1986 and then my masters from North Park University in 1999. I am a clinical nurse specialist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) and I am also a CWOCN. I am faculty at Northwestern and Chamberlain College of Nursing. I am married, no kids, but we also have dogs, 3 at present. I have a great many memories of nursing school! That horrible IC trian wreak in front of the school! ce and the tab!), taking scrubs down in the tunnel, being chased by security, getting 2 hours library dusting by the "Jud Board" for being on the hall phone 10 min past 12M and the lovely dorm we lived in - more like a prison! Pinning Mickey Mouse ears on the statue of Michael Reese in front of Main Reese building.... how did we get up there! What a crazy time! I am sad that MRH was torn down and I am sorry I did not go visit before that happened. Many great nurses graduated from MRH.
