Mary's Story

Life Hello Everyone, I sure would like to hear from ya'll. I finally graduated with an associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology in July, 1990.and worked in the medical field for 15+ years, on and off, and am now actually considering a career change!! Things have changed a lot in the past few months. I am once again going through a divorce, and just trying to make it as a single mom with 3 kids, including one with autism. I am working with the profound class at a school for special needs kids in Pensacola, and am considering a degree either in special education or possibly speech pathology. It's odd how quickly life can change sometimes!! But as the saying goes, that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger!! Does anyone know if the class of 1981 is going to have a 25 year reunion next year? Hope everyone is doing well! Mary School Oh Lord!! So many crushes, so little time!! Jerry McLeod, class of 1980 for sure! Then there was Eric Molinard! My gosh, he had some serious muscles, didn't he? Both of them knew I swooned when they walked by, so I was always too shy to even talk to them most of the time! Then there was Tommy Gruich-so cute and cuddly, and would make me laugh so hard I felt like I was gonna throw up! And Tina Doucette and I used to eat lunch with him! Stupid, huh? I found out quickly why we were often the only ones that would sit by him and try to eat at the same time! Then there was Clay Graham, although I don't believe I ever admitted that to anyone until now! What an adorable smile and personality! I dare everyone to "lay the cards on the table" Ha Ha!! n Medical Lab Technology. While doing my internship at Keesler Hospital, I met Alan Clark, my husband,at a time that I was so bitter towards men that I could hardly even look at my own brother, but he kinda grew on me.Anyway, since Alan was in the Air Force, I relocated to Chandler,Arizona upon graduation, and worked my first year at a small hospital in Florence, Arizona. I then went to a specialty clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, and was there for a couple of years. Then, on to another specialty clinic in Phoenix, where I stayed another year. Then, we moved to Biloxi, and I worked for Biloxi Regional for about 2 1/2 years. Then I went to the Biloxi VA and worked part time for about 8 months, then quit for a year to stay home with my third child. I returned to the VA and worked at the Gulfport division part time for about 6 months. We then moved to Pensacola in Aug 2000. I was a stay at home mom for a little over a year, then went to work for Baptist Hospital, where I stayed for 3 1/2 years. After I filed for my divorce, I had no choice but to work, and decided to become a teacher's assistant(I had thought about changing careers for quite a while, and I had thought about becoming a teacher, so I figured I'd get a job that would give me an opportunity to "test the waters" So far, with the exception of the money I AM LOVING IT!!! My children are now 16(Rachel) , 14(Zachary) and 7(Johnathan), so they keep me quite busy!! Zack has high functioning autism, and Johnathan has ADHD, and Rachel is 16(out of the three, I REALLY don't know which is more challenging!!) I sure would like to correspond with old friends, so write me!! Let's share some old memories of BHS!!! Hope to hear from ya'll soon, Mary
