Mary's Story
People have asked me several times what happened to me, where did I go after I graduated in '76 - well, here goes!
After graduation, I worked for several months at the old Dairy Queen on Rt. 60 (now where the Huntington Bank is). In January 1977, I married Bill Lockard (from Hunt. East), at Fellowship Baptist Church. We met in the youth department at Fellowship and dated awhile before we were married. Since Bill was in the Army, we moved to Ft. Knox, Ky, and then soon thereafter to Mainz, Germany, where we lived for 3 years. My oldest daughter was born in Wiesbaden, Germany in 1979. After 5 years in the military, we got out and moved to Lynchburg, VA, where Bill attended Liberty University for 3 years, and also where our two youngest children where born in '83, and '84.
Because of his father's worsening health, we moved to Ansted, WV in 1985. In 1986, after his father's death, we moved to Clarksville, TN and raised our family there.
In 1995, Bill and I were divorced, and I stayed in TN until 2001, when I moved to Alabama (yes, I moved around a lot! Get to meet lots of new people that way!) In 2003, I married David Johnson (yes, the same one from Swamp Branch Road in Martha! - David and I actually go...Expand for more
t back in touch with each other on Classmates). I moved back to WV, Ona to be exact, and lived there up until October of 2007. Unfortunately, David and I were divorced in Nov. 2007, and so I am on my way back to TN to be with my 3 children and grandchildren.
Whew! So now you know the rest of the story! Let's keep in touch, friends!
Oh yes, I am currently working on my B.S. in Human Development. I enjoy working in different types of social services. I also want to share with you that Jesus Christ in my Lord and Savior!
UPDATE: It is now April 2009. I have been back in TN for over a year now. It is so nice to be able to see the kids/grandkids more often. I have been back to Huntington to visit one time, and it sure was hard to leave because my folks are still there. Maybe if I could be cloned and be in 2 places at once!
Anyway, things are fine here. I work as a receptionist at a United Van Lines agency outside of Nashville. The group that I work with are wonderful people - most everyone there is a Christian and we all get along fine.
It has been nice to get reacquainted with friends on Classmates, as well as Facebook. I would love to hear from anyone that wants to write to me! God Bless!
