Mary's Story
Life
After high school I went to Golden West College, and got an AA in liberal arts. After that, I was strongly drawn to become a nun. But, that evidently wasn't in God's plans, and I've got a husband and 8 children (7 boys and a girl) to prove it! We adopted 2 year old Tristan in October 2007 to bring the total to 9 children. During our marriage (begun in '78), Bill and I have lived in Riverside, Garden Grove, and Santa Ana, CA; Lebanon, MO; Tucson, AZ; and now Sterling, CO.
Now we own and run a campground in northeast Colorado. We moved here more than 10 years ago, we've learned a lot, and had a bunch of fun along the way. We all get to work together (for better or worse, depending on the situation.....;-), and I think it's kept us close. I homeschool my kids through jr. high, ...Expand for more
and currently have 4 boys at home. They all love soccer and are involved with Boy Scouts. God has blessed me with a wonderful life!
Our two oldest, Joe and Laura, are Sterling policemen. Laura and husband Andrew are the proud parents of our third grandchild, Rebecca, born 7/10/05. In addition, our grandchildren are Andrew Joseph (born to son Tom), and Aizlyn (Bill's daughter).
My latest adventure is the Red Hat Society, a 'disorganization' of women intent on having fun and friendship in their later years (you have to have attained 50 years to wear a red hat). The fun has just begun--I intend to savor every day God gives me.
