Maryann's Story
Life
I'll write about me, but mostly I'm interested in you. If your lives have been as wild a ride as mine has I'm sure we could all write a best seller. I always thought I'd be a teacher or a social worker but I ended up in Telecommunication Project Management, specifically, satellite networks. I attended various universities and colleges and resided in Calgary for about 25 years. I traveled a lot with my work and one of my most interesting adventures was looking after a telecommunications network installation for a large nickle mine in Northern Quebec. I have one son, who is now 24 and 6'4 and 280lbs and also works in telecommunications. I recently got married again to a wonderful forensic pathologist (CSI all the way) who has two young children and I have to learn to be a Mom all over again. Oh what fun! It's about as much fun as watching hubbie do autopsies, which is lots of fun but took some getting used to. We live in Texas, on a golf course where we golf a few times a week. cently and can whack a golf ball about 270 yards when I hit it right. We travel a lot because my husband is also an expert witness and consults for criminal cases around the US. I go to Vancouver Island where my parents live, frequently. I have just finished writing a book and am looking forward to my next project as well as figuring out a way to get a new career active in Texas which will be forensic computer investigations. When I was a regional technical manager for Bell, I spent a fair bit of time in Winnipeg again and found myself doing site inspections on top of an apartment building on Cambridge street that was on land that was once a dairy farm that belonged to my grandfather and father AH, Winnipeg, I miss you sometimes. I've had my share of sad and tough times too, and I guess that's life, but I believe what doesn't kill me makes me stronger and I think I'm all the smarter and more determined as a result. I have been fortunate to have the love and support of some great friends. Take care y'all and I hope to hear from you.
