MaryJane's Story
Life 2019
I was married to the same guy for 38 years before we divorced. We have 2 children and 6 grandchildren (all of them are in Maine). I moved to Maine in 1978 & out in 2008. I still like Maine but the winters have gotten harder as I've aged. We had enough snow in Maine the last winter I was there to last me the rest of my life! So I am currently living in eastern Tennessee & loving it.
I try to visit my children in Maine several times a year. And I try to get to NJ at least once a year even if it's just passing through. I still have a brother & a sister there. I also love Niagara Falls. My brother, Jim lived there for a while but he passed away in 2007. I continue to visit his wife... but I wish he was still there too.
I was at the same job for almost 14 years before I left Maine. It's a good company and I made pretty good money for that part of the country. My job evolved over the years and I became the resident computer guru. I took care of the network and dealt with troubleshooting computer issues and I loved it!
I found the greatest job down here!!! Even better than the one I left behind! And then, I retired in 2017. Although I do still work on occasion...Expand for more
when they need me. Somewhere in those 10 years I worked there, I became a Macgal. Yes, I now prefer Mac over Windows & have for a while.
I fix my friends' computers on the side... It relaxes me. I always did love a challenge! Besides computers, in my spare time, I sew & do other crafty things. I also work on my family tree, write poetry & read. I like cuckoo clocks and I collect moose...
It's been really nice to reconnect with some of you on Facebook, but even better going to the 50th reunion. It was a blast & so good to see so many great friends in one place.
I found my husband down here & he was a great guy. He showed me what love was all about and he made me very happy. We traveled extensively & had a great time together. I recently lost him, but I will continue to travel. I'm sure he'll be with me in spirit. I'm planning on a cruise to Alaska in June of 2020. And I still need to go to Hawaii, after that. Beyond 48 states & 3 Canadian Provinces, I've also been to 17 European countries, Australia & the Philippines. So who knows where I'll go after that!?
You never know what life is going to send your way so never say never. More than likely, you'll be proved wrong.
