Matt's Story
Life
Hi all - My wife and I divorced in early 2007 after 15 years. I have a wonderful 15 year old son who keeps me on the go constantly. He is active in Boy Scouts and I am Asst. Scoutmaster in his troop. He will make Eagle rank this year, and we're scheduled to go to the 100th Anniversary Scouting Jamboree near Washington DC this July. We live in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where I owned a Yamaha-BMW-Triumph motorcycle dealership until 1997.
I'm now an RN, working on a cardiovascular ICU. My ultimate career goal is to become a CRNA (Nurse Anesthetist) - I should finish in about 2013 (right about retirement age for some of you!).
I no longer have any involvement in motorcycle road racing (very much a young man's sport!), but I still ride a lot and enjoy restoration of old cars and bikes -- my parents, who just celebrated their 62nd anniversary in July of '09, live here also and my Dad and I have a '56 Packard we've been working on for over 20 years. I feel very fortunate to still have my parents - so many of you have lost yours by now.

ccasionally - I rode my motorcycle from Arkansas to California and back in the summer of 2006, reconnected with several old friends. Great trip - my son and I came back out to CA for a week in the the summer of 07 - stayed in Santa Cruz for several days. I made a quickie trip in May of 08 to attend a friend's wedding, and popped in in January of 2010 for a few days also.
I still play guitar and bass and in 2001 hooked up with four other "classic musicians" to play "classic rock" in a band called "Code Blue". Recently I had to quit the band in order to facilitate my school/work schedule, but I'll have another one when I finish school. I've taught myself to play drums and am working on keyboards now. Connor has expressed some interest in guitar, to extend the family tradition. (Let's just hope he never does any "Kiss" fire breathing tricks like his Dad did ....) I thank God daily for my good health and I'm working hard on keeping it that way. Other than that, I'm just working on being a good father. It's not always easy! Take care all - I'd love to hear from any of you!
