Matthew's Story

Life Not pets. No kids. Still haven't gotten married much to my Mom's dismay - but I'm having fun living in Santa Monica and travelling for work to Vancouver, Montreal, New York, etc... Dating in LA isn't as bad as they say. Had a blast on my first real vacation in four years this past Christmas and am looking forward to taking more time off in the near future. Who knows. Maybe a trip to Japan. Love that hotel in Lost in Translation. My "little" sister Kate is 22 now (I know!) and graduated with a psych degree. She's living in Boston and applying to grad schools. I still play music and write/co-write/perform songs for my film/tv projects. All in all... life is great. Workplace Been working in Film/TV in LA since '95 and having the time of my life. Started as a casting guy for Ed McMahon's Star...Expand for more
Search. That was an awesome job - got to travel to every major city in America looking for talent. After that, I self-financed a pilot/presentation called "Out of the Blue" (maxed my credit cards) and sold it to Castle Rock. It went to series in '95 and lasted 22 episodes. With a few bucks in my pocket (and my credit cards back at zero) I shot another pilot/presentation and set that one up too. It never went to series, but I was able to keep the ball rolling and created another series called Higher Ground which also went for 22 episodes. Since then, I've been a showrunner on the Outer Limits, produced a film called The Unsaid (Andy Garcia), written and directed two features (Decoys, Bloodsuckers), with another one on the way. It's a tough business sometimes, but I am grateful to be here, doing what I love.
